Rikk Watts

Rikk Watts, New Testament professor at Regent College,  has been married to Katie, a grade 4 teacher, for almost 30 years and they have two adult children, both married, one studying Medieval history and the other working in Personnel Management. Initially working as an aeronautical engineer Rikk moved to systems engineering (IBM), before joining a parachurch organization engaged in Christian awareness projects in public schools and in providing crisis accommodation and various rehabilitation programs for the urban poor. He also co-founded On Being, a major Australian Christian magazine, and supported himself and his family as a professional drummer. He has since earned two Masters and a PhD and has been at Regent College, Vancouver, for over twelve years. He is the main speaker at the Rock Garden, a Sunday evening gathering for university age young adults (http://www.the-rockgarden.com/). He is particularly interested in the relationship between history and science, and analytics and rhetoric as they relate to questions of human culture and transformation.
